IRP should be fully aligned to the business and IT. In particular the Business Application Architecture should be driven by business goals and business processes. IT changes
must be based upon business requirements but IT has own responsibility to define, execute and implement the IT Roadmap Planning. This approach is rather “business-oriented”
than fully business-driven. Adaptations of the agreed IRP must be considered only when it would inevitably lead to the wrong direction.
Another important concept is to focus on IT governance to monitor, control and manage the IRP change project portfolio during execution and migrations. Successful
implementation of a change project portfolio will be depended on an effective implementation structure which fit in the existing organisational culture.
